Most healthy people can stay hydrated by drinking water, or other fluids like herbal tea, whenever they are thirsty. But you might need to drink more on a hot summer days, or when you’re exercising outdoors during the warmer months.
If you have certain medical conditions, like a bladder infection, for example, you might also need to increase your fluid intake. Older adults may be more likely to experience dehydration and heat-related illness.
Certain medications can also increase your risk of dehydration. Our pharmacist can advise on whether you are at risk.
